Bulk Earthworks

Buckton was engaged to carry out a UAV survey to ascertain bulk earthwork volumes across a large Watercare site in Snells Beach. The site had been subject to a large earthworks project, and total volumes were critical to contract obligations.

UAV allowed for a fast, safe, survey of the site, eliminating hazards and risk to staff.

Dedicated image-processing software gave us a point cloud of over 80,000,000 points across the site. Using this solution, we were able to generate a 3D model of the finished surface and compare this to original survey data from before earthworks began.

The results validated contractor payment claims.
