Volume Surveys

Buckton Surveyors and Planners provide volume surveys of annual analysis and volume data for a local quarry, measuring the volume of rock extracted over a calendar year.

In the past, the survey has been conducted with the use of high-density point cloud laser scanners, but more recently with the use of UAV (drone) and photogrammetry software.

Numerous site hazards can be mitigated/eliminated using this method, and large volumes of data can be obtained and processed in a short amount of time. For instance, a 3D point cloud of over 200,000,000 points allows a surface model to be generated and compared to the previous year's surface.

The accurate and legible volume data provided to the leaseholders allows for certainty with future planning and budgeting.
